Expanding Your Child's Homeschool Journey (Without Losing Your Mind)
A blended learning co-op for K–8 homeschool families in the Cooks Creek area, near Winnipeg, Manitoba.
So you chose to homeschool. You're brave. We respect that.
But even the most dedicated homeschool parent occasionally dreams of handing their kid off to someone else for a few hours while still feeling good about what they're learning. That's where we come in.
The Cooks Creek Homeschool Collective runs Mondays and Thursdays, and we promise to send your kids home tired, happy, and full of things to tell you about.
We are planning for the 2026/2027 season and spaces fill fast. Fill out our Family Interest Form to get on our waitlist before your neighbour does.
Why families choose our program:
-
Project-Based Learning: We go beyond textbooks. Your kid will build, create, experiment, and occasionally make a mess. In the best way.
-
Diverse Curriculum: Outdoor survival, forest school, home economics, physical education, financial literacy, entrepreneurship. Basically everything they will actually use as an adult, taught while they are still young enough to think it is cool.
-
Skill Development: Teamwork, problem-solving, and cooperation. Skills that will serve them well in life and make them slightly easier to live with at home.
-
Core Subject Support: ELA, math, and science support included, so you can stop dreading math Tuesdays.
-
Experienced Team: Learn from a dedicated team of experienced educators and passionate homeschool parents who know your kids by name. And their quirks. And their snack preferences.
What’s Actually Happening This Year (2026–2027)
Look, change is a good thing, and we are fully ready to make this our absolute best year yet. We tweaked our schedule to pack in even more awesome, hands-on, get-your-hands-dirty learning, all without ruining the unhurried, sane-parent-friendly rhythm we love.
Here is what your kids will actually be up to while you sit in your car and pretend to read a book in peace:
-
🌱 Farm Literacy (Mondays): Real farm stuff on a working Manitoba grain farm—dirt, seeds, big machinery, and figuring out where food actually comes from before it hits the grocery store aisle.
-
🌲 Wildlife & Outdoor Heritage: Less listening to us talk, more actual adventuring. We're talking Wildlife CSI, tracking animal sign, cooking over open fires, GPS navigation, and a full-blown Search & Rescue challenge across the property.
-
🏆 The Leadership League: Whole-school event days where the big kids and little kids team up for things like the Farm Olympics and the Amazing Race so they actually learn how to work together instead of just poking each other.
-
✍️ Revamped Chronicles & Roving Reporters (Thursdays): Your kids write, photograph, and build actual portfolios that turn into a published book in June. Plus, our oldest students are officially our roving blog reporters, which means they can answer your questions for once!
-
💼 Entrepreneurship (Mondays): Capitalism, but make it kid-friendly. They brainstorm, price, and sell real stuff at our market, and yes, the older ones will even learn how to use a spreadsheet without crying.
-
🗺️ New Social Studies & Wellness: Map skills so they stop getting lost in the woods, plus hiking, orienteering, and moving their bodies so they actually sleep at night.
We believe learning is not one size fits all. Unless the size is "fun, hands-on, and set in the beautiful Manitoba countryside." That size fits everyone.
