You decided to take your children's education into your own hands. Maybe you wanted more freedom, more flexibility, or simply realized there had to be a better way to learn than sitting at a desk all day.

Whatever your reason, welcome to the club.

Now, somewhere between teaching fractions, answering 400 questions before lunch, and wondering why everyone needs a snack every 12 minutes, you've probably realized something.

​

Homeschooling is wonderful. But doing absolutely everything yourself? That's a bit much.

​

That's where we come in.

​

Welcome to Cooks Creek Homeschool Collective, a homeschool enrichment program on a working Manitoba grain farm, where kids get to learn, explore, create, collaborate, and occasionally come home looking like they've been dragged through a field.

​

Because sometimes they have. Voluntarily.

​

We're Not a School. And That's Kind of the Point.

 

We believe education is about more than textbooks, worksheets, and memorizing things just long enough to pass a test.

 

At Cooks Creek, we focus on hands-on experiences, practical life skills, outdoor learning, creativity, leadership, and good old-fashioned problem-solving.

 

Our program brings together science, agriculture, home economics, entrepreneurship, physical education, social studies, and more.

 

But we're not just teaching subjects.

 

We're helping raise capable, confident, independent kids who know how to think, not what to think.

Kids who can work together, figure things out, take responsibility, and hopefully one day load a dishwasher without requiring a formal written invitation.

 

We can dream.

 

Fresh Air, Real Experiences & Questionable Amounts of Mud

 

We're big believers in getting kids outside.

 

Rain? Grab your boots.

 

Cold? Add another layer.

 

Mud? Well, we live on a farm. That one's practically unavoidable.

 

We believe children need opportunities to explore, take appropriate risks, challenge themselves, make mistakes, and discover what they're capable of.

 

Sometimes that means working together to solve a problem.

 

Sometimes it means trying something completely new.

 

And sometimes it means discovering that being the loudest person in the group doesn't automatically make you the leader.

 

Valuable life lessons, really.

 

More Than Just a Place to Drop Off Your Kids

 

Although we fully support the occasional peaceful grocery trip without someone asking for snacks.

Cooks Creek is about community.

 

It's about friendships, teamwork, independence, and learning alongside kids of different ages and abilities.

 

It's about older students stepping up, younger students finding their confidence, and everyone discovering that working with other humans requires a certain amount of patience.

 

A skill that comes in handy for the rest of your life, unfortunately.

 

We want kids who aren't afraid to ask questions, think critically, try difficult things, or admit when something didn't work.

 

Because learning how to figure things out matters a whole lot more than always having the right answer.

Let's clear something up.

 

We're not here to replace homeschooling, take over your curriculum, or convince your children that every

learning experience needs a worksheet.

 

Parents remain responsible for their children's education at home.

 

We provide opportunities for the kind of hands-on, group-based learning that's a little harder to pull off around the kitchen table.

 

Especially when your science experiment requires a grain farm, a group of enthusiastic kids, and someone willing to supervise the chaos.

 

We've got that covered.

 

Interested in Joining the Chaos?

 

Our 2026–2027 program runs Mondays and Thursdays, September through May, for homeschoolers in Kindergarten through Grade 8.

 

We keep enrollment limited because we're building a community, not running a kid warehouse.

Families interested in joining can complete our Family Interest Form to be considered for available spaces

or our waitlist.
